This role offers exposure to complex UK pension schemes, strong trustee engagement, and the opportunity to deepen your technical and governance expertise in a collaborative environment.As a Trustee Governance Support - In-house Pension Team within the UK Pensions & Benefits team, you will play a key role in supporting the governance, management, and day‑to‑day operation of the firm’s UK trust‑based defined benefit and defined contribution pension schemes. You will work closely with Trustees, internal stakeholders, and external advisers to ensure schemes are operated effectively, compliantly, and in line with best practice.The UK Pensions & Benefits team has responsibility for the firm’s trust‑based UK benefit programmes, including a comprehensive flexible benefits offering, a large medical trust, and five UK pension schemes, the largest of which has approximately 60,000 members.Job ResponsibilitiesSupport Trustee Boards and sub‑committees by coordinating meetings, preparing papers, attending meetings, drafting minutes, and tracking actionsMaintain and manage documentation on trustee and governance portalsKeep governance materials up to date, including risk registers, business plans, and policiesCoordinate and oversee projects such as annual scheme audits, member communications, newsletters, and benefit statementsAct as a key point of contact for external administrators, including service delivery oversight, handling discretionary death benefit processes, and managing member queries and complaintsSupport oversight of services provided by external advisers, including auditors, actuaries, lawyers, and investment consultantsProvide ongoing support to the Pensions Manager and wider team in the operation and management of UK pension schemes and related projectsRequired Qualifications, Capabilities, and SkillsExperience working with UK trust‑based defined benefit and/or defined contribution pension schemesExperience supporting Trustee Boards or governance structuresStrong understanding of UK pensions legislation, regulation, and governance best practiceProven ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detailAnalytical mindset with a practical, problem‑solving approachStrong organisational skills and ability to take ownership of workstreams and projectsClear and confident communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levelsStrong focus on risk management and controlPreferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and SkillsExperience gained within an in‑house pensions team or pensions consultancyExposure to working with multiple pension schemes or complex benefit structuresExperience coordinating projects across multiple internal and external stakeholdersJ.P.
