Production Manager

Location: 340 40th St N, Fargo, ND 58102 Position Summary: The Production Manager oversees all production operations within Red River Commodities' wild bird seed and backyard poultry feed facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing processes. This role leads production team members, manages daily operations, supports continuous improvement efforts, and partners with cross-functional teams to achieve safety, quality, customer service, and operational performance objectives while promoting a positive and accountable workplace culture Key Responsibilities: Production Oversight: Manage daily production schedules and ensure operations meet company goals for efficiency and output. Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor production staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Quality Control: Ensure all products meet company and industry quality standards, addressing any issues that arise. Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Process Improvement: Identify and implement ways to optimize production processes, reducing waste and improving efficiency. Inventory Management: Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure adequate raw materials and inventory levels. Equipment Maintenance: Work with maintenance teams to ensure all machinery and equipment are functioning correctly and receive necessary service. Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production metrics, reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) to upper management. Qualifications & Requirements: 3 years in a production management role, preferably in the food or agricultural industry. Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities; proficiency in production planning and process optimization. Ability to work in an industrial environment, including standing for long periods and lifting to 50 lbs. Familiarity with OSHA regulations, HACCP, and industry best practices. Working Conditions: Work is primarily conducted in a production facility with exposure to machinery, noise, and variable temperatures. Requires frequent standing, bending, and physical activity. Must adhere to safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
