Scroll down to learn more and submit your referral.Zurich North America is seeking an experienced Senior UA Manager to facilitate the training and development efforts required for the Underwriting Associates across the territory in support of our Financial Institutions and Public D&O teams. The Senior UA Manager will be hired in either the New York or Chicago office with flexibility to work-from-home on a hybrid schedule.In this role, you will lead, motivate, and develop Underwriting Associates and deliver customer-specific, value-added services for new and existing Financial Institutions and Public D&O accounts. You will provide support for talent development training to upskill/reskill our Underwriting Account Service Associates (UA) nationwide.Responsibilities of this role include: Accountable for ensuring teams meet key operational performance goals.Assess and evaluate underwriting processes in order to implement agreed technical standards, controls, practices and procedures, maintaining underwriting disciplines and identifying opportunities for improvements.Follows up regularly with producers as needed to discuss the status of new business, upcoming renewals, and renewals in process, and to develop appropriate action.Performs customer service and account management responsibilities, as needed, which may include resolving issues related to billing, making changes to policies, and answering policy coverage related questions.Participates in key account business relationships in person or teleconference with Underwriters.Conducts regular performance evaluations, ensures staff are meeting performance standards based on key operational performance metrics, staffing models and growth goals of the business units supported. Regularly conducts career development conversations with staff and creates robust development plans.Makes staffing decisions concerning hiring and guides staff development through identifying skills and training needs, delegating tasks appropriately, and motivating staff to provide outstanding client service.Build insurance operations and underwriting skills and knowledge by participating in cross-training and learning additional processes and procedures to support multiple workflows and contribute to effectiveness of team operations.Builds strong relationships across the business. Takes leadership role in Underwriting team huddles and meetingsAssisting to onboard and train new Underwriting Assistants and Underwriters.Acts as subject matter expert for initiatives aimed at continuous improvement and operational performance. Required Qualifications Senior UA Manager: Bachelor’s degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Insurance, Underwriting or Market Facing area AND Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment Experience with researching, compiling, analyzing and synthesizing data and metric Experience working in a production and metrics performance environment Experience preparing and managing operational budget Microsoft Office experience People management experience Preferred Qualifications: Insurance certifications Financial Institutions, Public D&O product knowledge 2 of more years of staff management experience Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The proposed Salary range for this position is $100,200.00 - $164,100.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits for employees and their families.
