Litigation Associate Attorney

Our client is one of Virginia’s leading law firms, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney (one to three years of experience) to join our active and growing Toxic Torts Defense practice in Norfolk, Virginia. This attorney will support active litigation in state and federal courts throughout the country as part of our national practice. Key Responsibilities Assist with all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials. Hands-on drafting: dispositive motions, discovery motions, briefs. Take and defend depositions with partner support. Argue motions commensurate with experience. Support case preparation for state and federal proceedings. Direct client contact and responsibility for discrete workstreams. Qualifications JD degree from an accredited law school. Active State Bar license. One to three years of litigation experience preferred. Experience preparing for federal and state court cases. Experience drafting and managing pleadings, briefs, depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials. Detail-oriented, good communicator with strong writing and organizational skills. Asbestos and/or talc litigation experience is preferred, but not a prerequisite. Benefits Competitive salary and bonus potential.
