Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty required License: Active RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: EPIC experience required Travel experience required Experience in a busy ER setting preferred Description: The role involves working in a fast-paced emergency room setting. Nurses will care for a diverse patient population with various urgent and critical conditions. A good mix of diagnoses includes trauma, respiratory illness, strokes, and mental health cases. Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4. The unit has 35 beds and 2 trauma bays. Nurses will engage in triage using the ESI triage algorithm. Critical care drips are commonly administered. RNs and techs will draw labs; additional support staff will assist with designated duties. There is 24/7 respiratory therapy coverage for all respiratory needs. The emergency department is equipped with a separate triage area and a Fast Track section. Nurses will be responsible for conducting EKGs and blood draws. Nights will require adherence to weekend and holiday shifts as scheduled. Collaboration with physicians and mid-level providers is essential during busy periods. All nurses are expected to wear Caribbean Blue scrubs. Unit-specific orientation is provided to familiarize nurses with protocols and procedures. Floating to other units is not required for this position.
