As a Staff Software Engineer, you’ll be a highly skilled, hands-on member of the engineering team designing and building modern software that processes, analyzes, and visualizes large volumes of data in near real time. You’ll spend most of your time solving difficult engineering problems and building software. You’ll work across the stack, contribute to architecture, and turn ambiguous requirements into reliable, maintainable products. You’ll have significant autonomy and are expected to recognize problems, determine practical solutions, and drive work to completion without extensive direction. What You’ll Work On: Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain production software across the stack. Design and implement scalable, distributed, event-driven, near-real-time systems using TypeScript, Node.js, React.js, and Next.js. Design and implement REST APIs, backend services, event-driven data pipelines, and distributed messaging using technologies such as Kafka. Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases, data models, and data access patterns. Develop containerized applications using Docker and deploy cloud-based capabilities across AWS, Azure, or GCP. Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins. Contribute to software architecture and technical decisions, balancing performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and development velocity. Troubleshoot complex issues across application, infrastructure, networking, and data layers. Participate in technical design and code reviews and help establish practical engineering standards. Work with engineers, product owners, and customers to translate evolving requirements into effective technical solutions. Take ownership of significant technical capabilities from design through implementation, deployment, and ongoing support. Share knowledge and mentor other engineers through collaboration, code reviews, and technical guidance. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,900.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD).
