Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day and Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: 2 Years Minimum License: Valid State License Required Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous travel experience - Ability to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity - Epic experience required Description: The Neuro ICU is looking for a skilled registered nurse. Candidates should have at least two years of experience in Neuro ICU settings. Weekend shifts are required for both day and night schedules. Nurses will be responsible for monitoring and managing patients with acute neurological issues. Patient population includes those with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhages, seizures, neuromuscular diseases, and patients recovering from neurosurgery. Skills required include IV start, telemetry, ventilator management, and intracranial pressure monitoring. Candidates should be comfortable with various procedures and equipment, including external ventricular drains and EEG monitoring. Floating to different units as needed is a requirement of this position. Strong communication and collaboration skills with an interdisciplinary team are essential. Candidates must also be prepared to manage complex cases with high acuity. This role requires the ability to work effectively under pressure and respond swiftly to emergency situations.
