Physical Therapist - Travel Contract

Looking for a change of scenery and a chance to help others. Provide skilled physical therapy services in an inpatient acute hospital setting in Northport, AL. The role involves evaluating patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members, performing therapeutic interventions, documenting care per department standards, and participating in required departmental duties. Patient populations include geriatric, neurological, stroke, and amputation care. Candidates must be prepared to float within the system as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) required.
• Current Alabama Physical Therapist license required. Must maintain active status in good standing with the state board.
• AHA BLS or Red Cross certification required prior to or upon start.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred; will consider 18 months of experience under the highest level of professional license with at least 1 year of experience in the specialty field (inpatient/acute care, neurological, stroke, or amputation care).
• Ability to perform heavy physical work, including lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally and physically assist patients during mobility tasks.
• Ability to analyze patient data, enter treatment data into electronic systems, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and complete thorough documentation.
• Willingness to work onsite and to float to other facilities within the system as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional licenses in OT or SLP considered a plus.
• Previous inpatient acute hospital experience with caseloads similar to approximately six patients per day preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 0800-1630.
• One weekend required per month.
• Holidays as required.
• Caseload typically around six patients per day.
• Must float to other facilities within the system as needed.
