Radiology Technologists use x‑ray equipment to obtain images of the body interpreted by a Radiologist. They prepare patients for exams, guide positioning, operate equipment, and obtain high‑quality images while minimizing radiation dose. Technologists may specialize in bone densitometry, cardiovascular‑interventional radiography, CT, mammography, MRI, or nuclear medicine.

Shift Times

A caregiver in this position works day/evening/night/weekend: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm or 11:30 am – 8:00 pm.

Responsibilities

• Perform general radiology exams, portable exams and fluoroscopic procedures.
• Produce quality images for interpretation with accuracy and without delay.
• Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after the exam.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Maintain documentation.
• Address equipment malfunctions, notify management and report to the help desk and PACS administrator.
• Assist with scheduling procedures, monitor and determine priority of patients, and process billing.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing.
• Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist.

Physical Requirements

• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.

Personal Protective Equipment

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $34.00
Maximum hourly: $34.00
The pay range displayed reflects the anticipated range for new hires. Compensation will be determined based on work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range does not include applicable pay practices or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.
