About the Role

Granite Comfort is a growing group of residential HVAC and plumbing service companies, with nine regional brands and approximately 600 employees. Our corporate accounting team supports the businesses behind the scenes, making sure the numbers are accurate, the books are clean, and our reporting gives leadership the information they need to make good decisions.

We're looking for a Senior Corporate Accountant to join our team as our second corporate accounting professional. This is an opportunity to take on meaningful ownership of multi-entity accounting, consolidations, intercompany eliminations, financing-arm reconciliations, and audit preparation, while working closely with the Corporate Controller.

What You'll Do

• Manage corporate accounts payable: Handle entry, coding, approval routing, and clean exports into Sage Intacct for corporate and holding company entities.
• Complete monthly reconciliations: Perform bank reconciliations for corporate entities and investigate discrepancies.
• Support payroll and benefits accounting: Review payroll, allocate workers' compensation, and record benefits activity.
• Prepare intercompany allocations: Handle approximately 30–40 monthly entries across our nine operating brands, including salary, cost center, commission, and labor allocations, ensuring they are structured for clean elimination during close.
• Reconcile the consumer financing arm: Reconcile activity across all nine brands, tie job costs between the operating and financing sides, and investigate differences between contract records, Sage Intacct, and ServiceTitan.
• Prepare eliminations: Complete monthly eliminations at both the financing-arm and consolidated levels.
• Support consolidated reporting: Prepare holding company accounting and the consolidated reporting package for review by the Corporate Controller.
• Assist with the annual audit: Prepare schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for our external audit.
• Support Sage Intacct administration: Serve as a second administrator, helping maintain continuity and support for our accounting system.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced accountant who is comfortable working across multiple entities, understands the importance of a thorough close, and enjoys figuring out why the numbers don't match.

Required experience and qualifications:

• 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including multi-entity month-end close.
• Hands-on experience preparing consolidations and intercompany eliminations. We need someone who has done the preparation work, not solely reviewed or audited it.
• Experience reconciling an ERP system against an operational or job-cost system.
• Experience preparing schedules and supporting documentation for an external audit.
• Sage Intacct experience. This is an important requirement, as you'll also serve as a second administrator for the system.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A demonstrated ability to investigate reconciliation differences, identify the root cause, and resolve issues rather than simply adjusting them away. Our financing-arm reconciliations require persistence, attention to detail, and good judgment.

• CPA.
• Experience with ServiceTitan or a comparable field-service platform.
• FloQast experience.
• Experience working in a multi-location or multi-brand services organization.
• Experience with a private equity-backed or sponsor-backed company.

Location, Hours & Compensation

• Fully remote within the United States, with a preference for candidates in the Eastern or Central time zones.
• Flexible working hours, with some limited domestic travel.
• Base salary of $105,000–$120,000 , depending on experience.
• 15% target annual bonus.
