Suppression Service Technician

Build your career with the industry-leading fire, life safety and security company.The Suppression Test & Inspect Technician is responsible for performing testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance of fire suppression systems including wet, dry, pre-action and deluge systems. This role is fully functioning within core technical responsibilities and can complete standard jobs without direct supervision. The technician ensures systems operate properly, meet customer expectations, and comply with applicable codes and standards.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Perform testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance of fire suppression systems including wet, dry, pre-action and deluge systems.Inspect valves, gauges, piping, sprinkler heads, alarm connections, and related suppression system components.Perform functional testing to verify proper system operation and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.Identify deficiencies, recommend corrective actions, and communicate findings clearly to customers and supervisors.Read and interpret blueprints, system layouts, inspection reports, and technical manuals.Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete inspection work efficiently and safely.Complete inspection reports, deficiency documentation, and service records accurately and on time.Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and supervisors regarding job progress and system status.Follow all company safety procedures and customer site requirements.Travel to job sites as required.Other duties as assigned by management.Required Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.FEL-K required.FEL-A preferred.3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.Experience with commercial fire suppression systems and inspection compliance requirements preferred.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, if driving role.Strong working knowledge of fire suppression systems and inspection procedures.Ability to work independently and complete standard inspection jobs without direct supervision.Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.Other Duties:Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.Performs other duties as assigned.Physical Requirements & Work Environment:Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.Ability to lift 50+ pounds.Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.Use of hand tools and testing equipment.Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.Benefits and Perks:Excellent payMedical, dental, visionCompany paid life insuranceCompany paid short-term disability401K with employer matchPaid vacation and company holidaysTraining and Career DevelopmentCompany vehicle (if job applicable)Immediate qualification for the ALL In Ownership Plan for all eligible full-time employeesOur Commitment:Pye-Barker is built on four core values – customer-bias, trust, respect, and commitment – that serve as the north star for how we conduct business within our community and across our branches.
