Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages in a high-risk obstetrics setting. Ensure safe, efficient patient management while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care to laboring women using circulating skills and OB-specific protocols.
• Monitor fetal well-being and maternal vitals, responding swiftly to any complications.
• Administer medications, including antibiotics, analgesics, and emergency drugs, per physician orders.
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in EPIC and OBTV systems.
• Participate in emergency procedures such as C-sections and external cephalic versions.
• Educate patients and families on labor processes, postpartum care, and discharge instructions.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active VA or Compact RN license at the time of submission.
• Possess a minimum of 1+ year of labor and delivery nursing experience.
• Maintain current ACLS and NRP certifications.
• Demonstrate circulating skills with OB patient care.
• Be proficient in EPIC and OBTV documentation systems.
• Be licensed and eligible to work in the state, with no pending licensing issues.
