To Apply for this Job Click HereJob: Software Development Manager – Mobile Technologies Location:Miami, FL (Hybrid) Job Type:Direct HireWhat We Are Looking For We are seeking a Software Development Manager for Mobile Engineering to lead the team responsible for the architecture, development, delivery, and operation of large-scale React Native mobile applications supporting a 3M+ user install base. In this role, you will lead and grow engineers while staying close to the code—shaping architecture, reviewing critical changes, and working directly with the team to solve complex technical and production challenges.You will own the technical direction of the mobile platform and help evolve it toward a modern, modular (Superapp-style) architecture that can support multiple products, teams, and customer journeys. You’ll help define how React Native and Expo are used end-to-end—from app structure and native integrations to CI/CD, over-the-air updates, observability, performance, and App Store / Google Play delivery. You will partner closely with Product, Design, Platform, and engineering leadership to translate business priorities into a mobile platform that can move quickly without sacrificing quality or maintainability.ResponsibilitiesOwn the technical direction and architecture of React Native applications across iOS and Android, balancing product velocity, performance, reliability, and long-term maintainabilityDesign and evolve a modular, Superapp-style mobile architecture with clear feature boundaries, shared platform services, and reusable capabilities (authentication, navigation, analytics, experimentation, notifications, design system components, etc.)Lead adoption and best practices for modern React Native and Expo, including React Native New Architecture, Expo SDK, Expo Modules, and appropriate native escape hatches where platform-specific functionality is requiredDefine and operate a safe over-the-air update strategy (Expo Updates / EAS Update), including runtime compatibility, release channels, staged rollouts, rollback, and clear rules for when a native store release is requiredOwn mobile build and release engineering, including CI/CD tooling (EAS Build/Submit or equivalent), code signing, App Store and Google Play releases, release automation, and environment managementAct as a hands-on technical leader: participate in design sessions, review critical pull requests, prototype/code high-leverage work, and jump into difficult debugging or production issues alongside the teamDrive mobile performance and quality through measurable engineering practices (startup time, rendering performance, bundle size, memory use, crashes, ANRs, network behavior, and overall reliability)Establish strong observability and operational practices for mobile, including crash reporting, logging, release health, analytics, and rapid diagnosis of production regressionsCreate architecture standards and engineering guardrails for navigation, state management, data access, offline behavior, deep linking, feature flags, testing, dependency management, and native module usagePartner with backend and platform teams to design mobile-friendly APIs and service contracts; collaborate with Product and Design to deliver cohesive experiences across multiple mobile products and customer journeysCoach, mentor, and develop engineers; provide clear technical feedback, set expectations, and ensure meaningful career growth pathsContinuously improve team execution and developer experience by reducing build friction, improving automation/testing, simplifying local development, and eliminating unnecessary processQualifications RequiredBachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent practical experience8+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience building and operating production mobile applications2+ years leading or managing software development teams while remaining technically engagedDeep experience with React Native, React, and TypeScript/JavaScript, including shipping a shared codebase to both iOS and AndroidExperience architecting large or multi-team mobile applications using modular architecture, shared packages/platform layers, monorepos, or Superapp-style patternsStrong experience with Expo and the modern Expo ecosystem (Expo SDK and EAS services such as Build, Submit, and Update); experience with expo-updates is especially valuableUnderstanding of React Native New Architecture concepts (Fabric, TurboModules, JSI/Codegen) and how they affect library selection, performance, and native integrationsExperience designing safe mobile release strategies across App Store / Google Play releases and over-the-air JavaScript/asset updatesStrong understanding of mobile CI/CD, automated testing, code signing, environment management, release automation, and production supportExperience with mobile observability and performance tooling (crash reporting, release health, diagnosing production performance issues)Strong understanding of client/server architecture and APIs (REST and/or GraphQL), authentication, caching, network resilience, and mobile-specific API concernsStrong communication skills and the ability to make architecture decisions clear to engineers, product partners, and other technology leadersPreferred QualificationsExperience building and maintaining systems in a cloud environment (AWS preferred)To Apply for this Job Click HereEqual Employment Opportunity Statement Gravity IT Resources is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
