The Accountant is responsible for organizing, maintaining, and managing all financial operations. This role ensures accurate accounting practices, absolute transparency of financial positions, and the precise tracking of key financial metrics. The ideal candidate will provide critical oversight to the bookkeeping team, execute daily and monthly financial workflows, and collaborate with executive leadership to support the firm's overall fiscal health.

This is an On-site Temporary position between 30-60 days.

Job Responsibilities of the Accountant:

• Prepare monthly financial reports, compile detailed executive spreadsheets, and deliver complete documentation packets to the executive leadership team.
• Verify and process monthly gross receipts sales taxes accurately to ensure total regulatory compliance.
• Review daily holding account reports (including Accounts Payable, credit card accounts, Sales Tax Payable, and payroll) to ensure absolute accuracy.
• Maintain and reconcile specialized ledger accounts, including the Owner's personal accounts and Parnall Land accounts.
• Conduct weekly quality-assurance audits of the bookkeeping team's tasks and perform specialized audits on settlement spreadsheets upon request from the Operations Manager.
• Execute internal bank transfers, manage ACH initiations for client settlements, compile banking reports, and oversee positive pay procedures.
• Research check statuses and retrieve digital check images upon request.
• Maintain the master budget for the firm and facilitate collaborative quarterly budget reviews alongside the Owner and CFO.

Qualifications for the Accountant:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Proven experience working as an Accountant, Staff Accountant, or in a similar full-charge accounting role.
• Direct experience calculating and filing monthly gross receipts taxes (GRT) and managing sales tax liabilities.
• Prior experience handling corporate banking platforms, including ACH files, internal ledger transfers, and positive pay security systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or specialized financial spreadsheets for compiling executive-level reports.
• Strong collaborative skills and the confidence required to audit bookkeeping staff and present key financial metrics directly to a CFO and business owner.

Compensation for the Accountant:

$30 - $32
