Senior Architectural Designer / Project Architect

Overview Position Overview We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative Senior Architectural Designer / Project Architect to support the studio across a diverse range of projects. This individual will lead project teams through all phases of design, from programming and conceptual development through construction administration and installation. As part of a smaller, fast-paced studio environment, this role requires flexibility and adaptability. Project priorities may shift weekly, requiring a balance of creative design thinking, technical expertise, project management, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator, calm under pressure, and passionate about delivering thoughtful, high-quality design solutions. This is a fully in-person role and includes participation in site visits, field surveys, and installation coordination as needed. Responsibilities Project Leadership & Team Management Lead and mentor junior team members across all project phases. Provide guidance, quality control, and oversight of daily project deliverables and deadlines. Manage project workflows, task delegation, coordination across disciplines, and resource planning. Ensure projects are executed efficiently and aligned with schedule and budget objectives. Design & Technical Execution Lead and contribute to projects from conceptual design through construction administration. Conduct site visits, field measurements, space surveys, and prepare as-built drawings. Produce coordinated drawing sets, 3D models, renderings, and project specifications. Coordinate architectural documentation with MEP consultants and external disciplines. Research and apply applicable building codes, zoning requirements, and construction standards. Advise on materials, sustainability strategies, and code-compliant design solutions. Construction Administration Oversee submittal reviews, RFIs, shop drawings, punch lists, and post-occupancy evaluations. Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and vendors throughout project execution. Assist with installation oversight and on-site problem resolution. Client & Studio Collaboration Prepare and present design concepts and project updates to clients. Clearly communicate design intent and integrate client feedback into project development. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors. Support internal studio initiatives, workflow optimization, knowledge sharing, and design innovation. Anticipate project challenges proactively and communicate concerns or solutions effectively. Qualifications Accredited professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch). 10+ years of post-graduate architectural experience. Proven experience leading projects and managing junior staff within a studio environment. Strong understanding of project scope management, budgeting, construction pricing, feasibility analysis, and architectural best practices. Strong design sensibility with a passion for architecture, interiors, art, and the creative industry. Proficiency in: Revit AutoCAD Adobe Creative Suite Bluebeam Google Workspace Miro (preferred) Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Strong client relationship management and team collaboration abilities. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Comfortable working in ambiguity and adapting to evolving project needs. Legal authorization to work in the United States. Architectural licensure preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr W3Global
