Hourly Wage: $75.10-$84.52/Regular/Full -Time

This position is responsible for diagnosing and treating psychiatric disorders, usually through medication. Their duties include studying mood, personality and behavioral disorders, discussing symptoms with patients to determine a diagnosis and prescribing medication to correct chemical imbalances in the patient's brain.

Examples of Work Performed:

Assess and screen patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, including interview, medical histories, physical exams, observations, and psychological testing.

Analyze data and results of assessments to diagnose patients.

Prescribe and administer medications according to diagnosis.

Monitor patients to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications.

Develop a treatment plan, measure progress against the plan, and make adjustments as needed.

Provide crisis intervention as needed.

Complete all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner.

Collaborate with a broader team of physicians, therapists, and nurses to asses and adjust treatment plans.

Coordinate and communicate with case managers and other stakeholders about treatment and care.

Providing guidance and direction to YNBHS staff, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.

Consult with the patients Primary Care Physician, Nurse or other health care providers.

Provide crisis intervention when needed.

Abide by Yanaka Nation Rules and Regulations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions, and for counseling and guidance.

Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.

Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, societal trends and influences, human migrations, ethnicity, cultures, and their history and origins.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices.

Medicine-Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, disease, and deformities. This includes systems, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures.

Administration and management-Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

Familiar with crisis assessment tools and techniques.

Minimum Requirements:

Current and valid board certification in Psychiatry.

Medical degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved psychiatric residency.

Licensed to practice medicine in Washington State.

Current DEA registration.

Required to pass pre-employment drug test.

Required to pass pre-employment background Check.

Must possess a valid Washing State Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Yakama Nation Driving Permit.
