Start Date: 05/04/2026

End Date/Duration: Approximately 13 weeks (with possible extension)

Shift: 12-hour shifts; nights and weekends required

Hours/Week: 36-40 hours (based on schedule)

Employment Type: Travel/Per Diem

Licenses/Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH

Experience: Minimum 2 years acute care RN experience, stroke care experience preferred

Pay & Benefits

Hourly Rate: $50.25/hour (local rate; differential pay may apply)

Pay Schedule: Weekly via direct deposit

What You'll Do

• Provide specialized care for stroke patients in a stepdown and med-surg setting
• Administer titratable medications (with manager approval) such as Cardene, Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, and Neo
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond to changes
• Manage patients with CVA/TIA, post-surgical spinal patients, and overflow stepdown patients with complex conditions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including RT, OT, PT, and hospitalists
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR
• Support unit operations as assigned, including charge nurse duties

What You Need

• Valid Louisiana RN license
• BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications
• 2+ years of recent acute care RN experience
• Strong telemetry and patient management skills
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
• Flexibility to work a 12-hour night shift, including weekends and holidays
