About the Role:

The Food Service Worker II plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and sanitary preparation and service of food within a retail trade environment. This position is responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction by adhering to established procedures and health regulations. The role involves collaborating with team members to manage food inventory, prepare menu items, and provide excellent customer service. The Food Service Worker II also supports training and mentoring less experienced staff, contributing to a cohesive and productive work environment. Ultimately, this position ensures that customers receive timely, safe, and enjoyable food service experiences that align with company standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in food service or a related role, preferably within a retail or fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in food handling or food safety (e.g., ServSafe).
• Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
• Familiarity with dietary restrictions and allergen management.
• Additional training or coursework in nutrition or culinary arts.
• Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse customer base.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve food items according to standardized recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency and quality.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation and service areas in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating food inventory to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
• Provide courteous and efficient customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Support training and guidance of Food Service Worker I staff to promote skill development and adherence to procedures.
