Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center – Gadsden, AL

We are seeking a Clinical Dietitian, alsoreferred to as aRegistered Dietitian.TheRegistered Dietitian(RD)in our hospital designs and implements nutrition care plans for patients, tailoring diets to medical needs.Clinical Dietitian’sassess nutritional status,monitorprogress, educate patients and families, collaborate with healthcare teams, and ensure dietary staff prepares meals that meet safety and health standards.TheRegistered Dietitian’sgoal is to improve patient outcomes through effective nutrition management.This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PRNas needed.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Nutritionalassessment: evaluate patients' dietary needs based on medical conditions, lab results, and health history
• Developmealplans: create individualized nutrition plans to support recovery, manage chronic diseases, or address specific conditions like diabetes, heart disease, or malnutrition
• Track patients’ progress, adjust meal plans as needed, and ensure nutritional goals are met
• Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition into patient care plans
• Educatepatients and their families about proper nutritioneducation, special diets, or post-discharge meal planning
• Ensure meals prepared by the dietary staff align with prescribed diets and safety standards

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• Registered Dietitian (RD) license
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting providing patient nutritional care

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong understanding of medical nutrition therapy (MNT)
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
• Ability to educate and motivate patients and families on healthy eating habits
• Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
