Special Education Teacher

Special Educator Position

Riverdale School is looking for a talented special educator to join our team!

Candidates must hold a Massachusetts Teacher License in Special Education. Dual certifications and prior classroom experience preferred.

Responsibilities include:

• Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences through the District curriculum with modifications and accommodations as needed.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Use relevant technology to support instruction.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and development.
• Provide appropriate feedback on work.
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.
• Prepare required reports on students and activities, such as progress reports and IEPs.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
• Participate in department and school meetings, parent meetings.
• Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
• Collaborate with special education staff, general education staff and support staff.
