Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 5-bed ICU with stepdown overflow, managing a 1:2 patient ratio (occasionally 1:3 depending on census)
• Care for complex ICU patient populations including ventilator-dependent patients, BiPAP, AirVo, bariatric surgery, and general surgery cases
• Administer and monitor critical care drips including propofol, levophed, diltiazem, insulin, and heparin
• Float between ICU, stepdown, and Med/Surg units as needed, supporting a 23-bed Med/Surg unit with a 1:5 patient ratio
• Perform telemetry reads and measurements as part of ongoing patient monitoring
• Participate in 1–2 winter holiday shifts unless the unit is closed, as required per facility policy

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 24 months of recent ICU/Intensive Care experience required
• Travel nursing experience within the previous 24 months required
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR required
• Active BLS certification from AHA or ARC required
• Active ACLS certification from AHA or ARC required
• Active PALS certification from AHA or ARC required
• Active TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Competency) certification required
• Telemetry reads and measurements competency required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (verified by driver's license)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Med/Surg experience strongly encouraged given potential float responsibilities across ICU, stepdown, and Med/Surg units
• Comfort caring for 2–5 patients across varying acuity levels
• NIHSS certification preferred; may be obtained during onboarding
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
