HVAC TechnicianMechanical Service, Field OperationsGarden Grove, CA • Full-Time/RegularPosition SummaryThe Journeyman Technician will support the maintenance, repair, and service of commercial and industrial HVAC and central plant equipment. This role works closely with customers and internal teams to troubleshoot issues, complete preventative maintenance, and support reliable system performance while maintaining a strong focus on safety and customer service. Southland Industries is a signatory contractor of the Local Union 250.Position DetailsMaintain and repair large commercial industrial and air conditioning equipment up to 120 tons, including motors, pumps, valves, controls, cooling towers, vane axial fans, and other auxiliary equipment.Familiar with all aspects of rigging.Support the office with recommended repairs from delivery to completion.Availability for emergency service calls "on-call" through normal rotation.Responsible for end-to-end testing, programming, start-ups, and commissioning.Manage site-wide maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair duties from light commercial to large industrial HVAC equipment.Ensure completion of maintenance within the scheduled month and allocated time.Maintaining positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workersProvide technical support and troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all on-site equipment.Attend monthly safety meetings.Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.Work directly with the Service Supervisor on new and existing customer opportunities or issues.Qualifications5 years of work experience at the journeyman level and technical schooling.Commercial/Industrial air conditioning experience required.Knowledge of Large commercial air cooled HVAC systems.HVAC large tonnage field knowledge is required.Must be available for emergency service calls "on call" through normal rotation.EPA and SCAQMD Licensed technician.Effective oral and written communication skills.Valid driver's license to meet Southlands driving policy.BenefitsAs a 100% employee-owned company, we are committed to supporting the well-being of our employees and their families. For California this ranges from $28.00/hour - $65.00/hour plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.Contingent Employment: All employment offers are contingent upon successful drug tests, background checks, and professional reference checks.
