Assistant Controller

Fiscal Services Department Assistant

Serve as the #2 person in the Fiscal Services department. Perform essential job functions as described below, along with other duties as assigned by either the Controller or Treasurer & CFO.

Location: Geneva, NY.

This is an on-site position.

Education: Minimum: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required. Preferred: Master's degree (business, finance or accounting) is preferred.

License: Professional Certifications: Minimum: CPA certification is preferred.

Work Experience: Minimum: Five (5) years of accounting and financial reporting work experience including some management level accounting experience. Preferred: In a hospital or health system.

Skills: Minimum: Candidate must have knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP and federal and NY State financial regulations, advanced computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office and financial information systems and databases, must have a deep understanding and strong technical skills in accounting and finance including: general ledger; accounts payable; payroll; cash flow; cost/benefit analysis; revenue management; operating budget and reporting and forecasting. Experience with labor management and productivity is strongly desired. Candidate must have the ability to build highly collaborative relationships across functions and levels of the organization. He/she must be considered accessible and approachable. Preferred: Meditech and Lawson and/or Workday experience.
