Position Overview\nFamily Behavioral Guidance Services is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our team in Paterson, New Jersey. Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Evaluate and assess the ongoing biopsychosocial needs of patients, conducting detailed intake evaluations and ongoing assessments to identify specific treatment requirements. \n
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique circumstances, outlining clear goals and therapeutic interventions. \n
- Deliver individual, family, couple, and group psychotherapy sessions, utilizing appropriate therapeutic modalities based on clinical appropriateness and patient needs. \n
- Participate actively in program planning sessions alongside psychiatry and allied healthcare team members to refine treatment approaches and strategies. \n
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress, treatment interventions, and outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards and agency policies. \n
- Provide crisis interventions and triage evaluations, collaborating with outpatient and inpatient teams to ensure patient safety and effective care delivery. \n
In this role, you will work with a broad spectrum of clientele, from children and adolescents to adults facing complex emotional and psychological challenges. Our clients often present with issues related to anxiety, depression, relationship dynamics, trauma, and substance misuse. Your expertise and therapeutic skills will play a vital role in guiding them toward improved mental health and resilience.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required. \n
- Active and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of New Jersey. \n
- Minimum of two years of counseling experience, preferably in a clinical context. \n
- Strong understanding of legal and ethical standards relevant to the counseling profession. \n
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for developing rapport with diverse clients. \n
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) software and related technologies. \n

- Experience working in primary care or medical settings is highly valued. \n
- Specialization in family therapy, couples therapy, substance misuse, or trauma is preferred. \n
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. \n
The salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $105,000 annually, commensurate with experience. We also offer a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.
