Pediatric Gastroenterologist (Cleveland)

Overview

Pediatric Gastroenterologist with expertise in Nutrition – The Cleveland Clinic (CC) is recruiting for a pediatric gastroenterologist with specific expertise in nutritional management to join the Department of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Cleveland Clinic Children's. The ideal applicant is board certified/board eligible in pediatric gastroenterology. There is clinical leadership potential within the Department and nutritional support programs, tailored to areas of interest.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care for pediatric and young adult patients with gastrointestinal disorders as part of the GI service at the main tertiary/quaternary care hospital, including consultations with Pediatric Hospital Medicine or Neonatology teams at community hospitals and the pediatric-dedicated CC Children20s Hospital for Rehabilitation.
• Collaborate with designated disease-specific nurse care coordinators, ambulatory nurses, dietitians, GI psychologists, pediatric social workers, and other multidisciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive nutritional management and GI care.
• Engage in research (clinical, basic science, and translational), quality and patient safety initiatives, and contribute to medical school and residency education.
• Participate in or develop nutrition-focused programs such as intestinal rehabilitation and multidisciplinary nutritional support; contribute to liver transplant, hepatobiliary, metabolic/glycogen storage disease, IBD, eosinophilic esophagitis, aerodigestive care, neurogastrointestinal/motility, and pancreaticobiliary disease services as appropriate.
• Participate in academic activities, teaching appointments, and potential research opportunities with the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and the LRI, with opportunities for research appointments as programmatically reviewed.

Qualifications

• Board certified or board eligible in pediatric gastroenterology.
• Interest in nutrition-focused clinical care and opportunities for leadership within departmental nutrition programs and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience or interest in multidisciplinary collaboration with dietitians, GI psychologists, social workers, and translational researchers.
• Strong commitment to education, research, and patient safety initiatives.
