Electrical Engineer 2 or 3 Safran is an international high‑technology group operating in aviation, defense and space markets. The Aerospace and Defense division, Safran Aero Boosters, designs, develops and produces modules, equipment and test cells for aircraft and space engines in Belgium with subsidiaries in the United States. This position is located in Minneapolis, MN (651 Campus Drive, New Brighton, MN 55112). Job Overview As a Senior Electrical Engineer under the direction of the EE Manager, you will create electrical designs and wiring diagrams for industrial data acquisition and control systems used in jet engine testing. You will manage your own work, assist with safety management system efforts, perform on‑site installations, and provide customer support and troubleshooting. The role collaborates with Mechanical, Software, and other Electrical Engineers, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities Manage electrical design projects with minimal guidance and supervision of Sr. Electrical Engineers, overseeing schedule, budget, and task breakdowns. Lead design efforts for engine wiring harnesses, control systems, facility interconnections, cable assemblies, and data acquisition systems. Create high‑level and low‑level detailed wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical. Facilitate and support design reviews internally and with project management and customers. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams of Electrical, Mechanical, and Software engineers. Ensure designs comply with industry standards and Safran Test Cells’ internal standards. Report progress and status to engineering management. Assist in producing project deliverables with other electrical engineers, designers, and drafters. Interpret information from prior designs, customer specifications, sketches, OEM and customer documentation. Follow Safran Test Cells’ Engineering Design Process and Quality Maintenance System. Acquire knowledge and improve technology, products, and processes through training opportunities. Support existing customers with equipment troubleshooting and providing instructions on familiar work packages. Participate in a continuous improvement culture by recommending and implementing enhancements. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. At least 3 years of related industry experience. Experience with CE and ATEX regulatory standards preferred. Proficient in designing electrical systems using AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent for: data acquisition and control systems, power distribution systems, wiring harnesses, and building electrical ducting and services. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with a customer‑focused approach. Detail‑oriented with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Self‑motivated, organized, able to multi‑task, prioritize, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment while exercising initiative and judgment within scope of authority. Solid analytical and problem‑solving skills. Additional Information Annual salary: €85,000 – €105,000. Full‑time, permanent position located in Minneapolis, MN.
