Highly respected interior contractor with 85 years of knowledge working in flooring, drywall, and acoustical in Metro-Detroit is looking to add an experienced Commercial Flooring Estimator/Project Manager to the team. Job overview:

· Point of contact with customers, superintendents and sub-contractors

· Create new and build stronger existing customer relationships

· Managing & estimating a project from beginning to end, ensuring that construction activities stay on schedule and within budget

· Interface with owner and others to provide engineering and cost data regarding project feasibility

· Project accounting functions including managing the budget, tracking the team expenses and minimizing exposure and risk in the project

· Estimate with detail, both quantitative material/equipment take-off & labor production

· Attend pre-bid meetings to ensure determine accurate scope of work and require contents of estimate

· Expert blueprint reading ability to accurately complete quantity material take-offs

· Transfer all costs/data to an estimating spreadsheet and maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures

· Estimate extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring materials etc.

· Periodic inspection of construction sites and progress meetings when necessary

 

Requirements:

· Minimum of 5 years commercial flooring estimating experience

· Sound technical skills, analytical ability, and strong management focus

· Results-oriented, well organized and self-directed

· Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), Estimating Software (FloorRight experience preferred).

· Detail driven and expert plan reading skills with ability to conceptualize drawings

· Understand soft flooring materials and installation methods

· Attention to detail and accuracy in a MUST

· Must be able to read and interpret all project specification manuals

· Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures
