26009775 Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgical Trauma PCU/Burn Unit – Full-time, 7P Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104 Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 6:45 pm – 7:15 am Position requires 12‑hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays. Team members may be placed on call for regularly scheduled shifts in response to census fluctuations. Department Highlights Justin 5 is a 26‑bed Surgical Trauma Progressive Care (PCU) and Burn Unit. 18 beds are for Surgical Trauma or Burn PCU patients and 8 beds are for Med-Tele Burn Patients. This unit provides higher‑acuity surgical trauma and burn care, including treatment in a dedicated hydrotherapy procedure room for the burn population. Although patient populations differ, this is one integrated unit, and staff are expected to work across both care areas. MAGNET facility Level I Trauma Center Primary Heart Attack Center PHAC The department prides itself in high performing staff with excellent critical thinking skills Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team Nurse to patient ratio 1: 3-4 Here’s What You Need Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly ACLS – within 90 days of hire required TNCC or ATCN - within 12 months of hire preferred CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire 1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required PCU and/or Critical Care experience preferred Will consider ED experience Burn unit experience a plus In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment. maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patients possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism have basic computer skills using medical management application systems What You Will Do Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process assesses the patient plans the care of the patient intervenes as appropriate evaluates the effectiveness of interventions Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
