LHH is partnering with a well-established company in the Lake Zurich area seeking acontract Staff Accountant to support key accounting and finance functions during a period of growth. What You'll Be Doing
Prepare and post journal entries
Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts
Assist with month-end and year-end close
Maintain and analyze general ledger activity
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed
Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies
Prepare financial reports and schedules for management
Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation
Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
2+ years of accounting experience
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
Experience with account reconciliations and journal entries
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, or similar
Manufacturing or distribution industry experience
CPA or CPA-track candidate
