Labor and Delivery RN

The position requires a Labor and Delivery RN. Years of experience required: 2 years. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, NRP, and FHM. Orientation will involve a total of 12 hours. Responsibilities include management of labor, induction, and both scheduled and unscheduled C-sections. Additional tasks involve handling various patient conditions such as SROM, PPROM, hypertension, preeclampsia, and antepartum cases. Triage patients effectively and utilize various medical equipment like CADD epidural pumps and Alaris IV pumps. Be proficient with Phillips monitoring systems, SteadysHillrom labor beds, and Draeger Clientnt warmers. Follow established guidelines for patient ratios, aiming for 1:1 during active labor and up to 1:3 in triage or antepartum situations. In high-demand scenarios, nurses may need to take on additional patients as necessary. Participation in all relevant training and skill development is essential for the role. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols. Support patients and families with educational needs and discharge planning. Interact collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
