Technical Sales Engineer (m/w/x)

The purpose of the Technical Sales Engineer (m/w/x) role is to support sustainable business growth by combining technical expertise with consultative sales, enabling international customers from research and industry to find the right solutions while identifying new market opportunities, strengthening customer relationships, and driving sales success. Technical advice and support for our international customers, from research and industry, with a focus on pre‑sale enquiries Leverage industry expertise and strong customer relationships to identify additional business opportunity as existing customers’ needs grow Find new markets/ industries for Thorlabs to support Manage the sales pipeline within CRM, from qualification to close Provide market feedback to R&D and Marketing Communication groups Present equipment demonstrations and interact with customers at conferences and trade fairs When required, visit customers alongside the outside sales team to provide technical expertise First‑hand experience with either optical setups, laboratory environments or photonics equipment Master’s degree in physics, optics, chemistry, engineering or similar Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers Fluent in English and German Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Strong data analysis and reporting skills Must be comfortable with presenting concepts to a large audience Flexible working hours (arranged individually), 30 days of vacation, mobile work Company pension scheme & health insurance options Support for your personal development and career growth Wide range of health and sports activities (Urban Sports Club, company runs, etc.) Leasing options (JobRad) Free charging stations for e‑bikes and electric cars Option to take a time‑out Annual company events and social activities
