Job Description
MRI Technologist

Shift Information

This position is for evening and night shifts, working three 12-hour shifts per week.

Required Qualifications

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Washington State Certification as a radiologic technologist.
Graduate of an accredited course in Radiologic Technology, approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
ARRT registration in MRI.
Minimum of 2 years of previous MRI experience.

Essential Functions

Prepare for and perform all MRI examinations while operating equipment safely and efficiently.
Develop, initiate, and monitor procedures to maximize the effective use of the MRI scanner.
Perform IV access using sterile techniques and administer contrast media under physician supervision.
Maintain cleanliness of the MRI scanner and associated equipment in accordance with infection control policies.
Adhere to MRI safety guidelines and quality assurance procedures.
Effectively utilize PACS, RIS, and current EMR, and complete necessary documentation for each examination.
Comply with continuing education requirements as set by regulatory entities.
Safely lift and transfer patients using ergonomic techniques and appropriate patient handling devices as needed.
