Job Title Records Manager – Admissions – University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Job Details Location: North Carolina, US Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Hours: 40 per week Position type: Full‑time Temporary (SHRA) Salary: $20.00–$22.00 per hour Employment period: 6 months or longer, starting 09/07/2026 Position Summary The Records Manager in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions will focus on preparing, verifying, and managing electronic and paper records for prospective students, applying students, and enrolling students. This role requires mastery of Slate and ConnectCarolina to accept and process nearly 80,000 records each year and to ensure accuracy and data integrity across those records. The position involves gathering, sorting, and assigning thousands of documents to assemble student applications, as well as developing and implementing mechanisms and best practices to optimize application management during the narrow admission window. One‑on‑one communication with applicants ensures they successfully complete their applications. The Records Manager collaborates with staff across the office to improve processes, documents and communicates policy updates, and performs other administrative duties as assigned. Responsibilities Prepare, verify, and manage electronic and paper records for prospective, applying, and enrolling students. Accept and process over 80,000 student records annually using Slate and ConnectCarolina. Gather, sort, and assign thousands of application documents. Develop, evaluate, and implement mechanisms and best practices to optimize application management. Conduct one‑on‑one communication with applicants to ensure successful completion of applications. Collaborate with staff to make real‑time decisions that improve processes. Document and communicate policy updates to staff. Perform other administrative duties as assigned. Minimum Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Qualifications Experience managing records, document management, or administrative operations in a higher education or similarly complex environment. Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment, prioritize competing responsibilities, or coordinate workflow with minimal supervision. Experience providing professional customer service by communicating with courtesy, tact, and discretion, especially when handling sensitive or confidential information. Experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders or maintaining effective working relationships while supporting records management processes and compliance requirements.
