Halifax River Yacht Club – Daytona Beach, FL

Halifax River Yacht Club is seeking dependable, professional, and energetic Seasonal Banquet Servers to join our Food & Beverage team during our busy event season.

This is an event-based seasonal position supporting weddings, holiday parties, corporate events, member functions, dinners, and other private events held at the Club. Hours will vary based on our banquet calendar, making this a great opportunity for hospitality professionals looking for flexible or supplemental work.

HRYC's Food & Beverage department has been under new leadership for the past several months, and we are continuing to build a strong team focused on professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and exceptional service.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications and floor plans
• Set tables with linens, china, glassware, silverware, and other event items
• Provide professional plated, buffet, cocktail, and reception-style service
• Serve food and beverages efficiently and accurately
• Clear plates, glassware, and tables throughout events
• Maintain water, coffee, and beverage service
• Assist with buffet setup, maintenance, and breakdown
• Follow direction from Banquet Captains, Supervisors, and event leadership
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and service staff
• Reset rooms between events when necessary
• Break down tables, chairs, linens, service stations, and event equipment following functions
• Maintain clean and organized banquet and service areas
• Complete assigned opening, closing, and side-work duties
• Provide courteous and professional service to members, clients, and their guests

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate:

• Has previous banquet, restaurant, catering, or hospitality experience
• Is reliable and punctual— banquet events require the entire team to be ready on time
• Presents themselves professionally
• Works well as part of a team
• Can follow detailed event instructions and floor plans
• Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Pays attention to details and guest needs
• Is willing to assist wherever needed during an event
• Can maintain a professional attitude throughout long or busy functions
• Has flexible availability, particularly evenings, weekends, and holidays

Banquet experience is preferred, but we are willing to train candidates with strong hospitality skills, a professional attitude, and a willingness to learn.

Scheduling

This is a seasonal, event-based position . Weekly hours are not guaranteed and will fluctuate depending on the Club's event schedule.

Our banquet business increases significantly during the holiday and special-event season. Candidates with strong evening and weekend availability will have the greatest opportunity for shifts.

This position may be ideal for experienced servers or bartenders looking to pick up additional shifts alongside another job.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must be able to:

• Remain on their feet for extended periods
• Carry banquet trays, multiple plates, glassware, and service items safely
• Frequently walk, bend, reach, lift, and carry
• Assist with moving and setting tables, chairs, and banquet equipment
• Work both indoors and outdoors depending on the event
