Deck and Patio Cover Builder

What the work looks like: 

• We build custom decks and patio covers for residential homeowners. 

• You’ll work closely with the project manager, homeowner, and your crew to turn the plan into a high-quality finished project. 

• We typically work 40–50 hours per week. Anything over 40 hours is paid as overtime. 

• Saturday work isn’t mandatory, but hours may be available if you want them. 

• This is hands-on, physical work performed outdoors year-round. 

• We often build large custom decks and patio covers that are 10–20 feet above the ground. 

You don’t need specific fence or deck experience. If you have a solid background in construction, carpentry, framing, concrete, landscaping, roofing, or another hands-on trade, your skills will likely transfer well to what we do. 

What success looks like: 

• You show up prepared, work hard, and can be counted on  

• You take ownership of the quality and outcome of every project 

• You communicate clearly with the project manager, homeowner, and your crew 

• You take care of tools, materials, equipment, and the customer’s property 

• You accept feedback, continue improving, and help the people around you succeed 

• As your skills, leadership, and value grow, your responsibilities and pay grow with them 

This role may not be for you if.. 

• If you do not like working with residential homeowners 

• If you don’t enjoy physical, hands-on work outdoors in all kinds of weather 

• If you would rather stick to yourself, rather than collaborate and work as a team 

• If you do not enjoy a fast-paced work environment 

What strong performance earns you: 

• $25–$35/hour: For people newer to the trades who have a strong work ethic, are mechanically inclined, and are ready to learn and grow. 

• $35–$60+/hour: For proven tradespeople who bring strong construction experience, take ownership, and have the potential to lead crews or grow into management.
