Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Abilene, Texas.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: OR - Operating Room\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/05/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 40 hours per week\n Shift: 8 hours, days\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Days, 5x8hrs\n Hours: 40 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 5, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an OR RN with 2+ years of service line experience and required craniotomy/burr hole experience for a 13-week assignment.Details\n \n Operating Room unit covering Neuro/Spine, Ortho/Trauma, and General/Robotics/Trauma surgical services\n Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (6:30 AM-3:00 PM), Monday through Friday\n Call and late days required as needed\n May be required to float to another campus or acceptable unit\n 1:1 patient ratio\n Allscripts charting system experience preferred\n Requirements\n \n Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration\n BLS certification required\n ACLS, CNOR, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications preferred\n Minimum 2 years of OR service line experience required\n Craniotomy and burr hole experience required\n Trauma Level I or II experience preferred\n Charge nurse experience preferred\n Experience with a range of surgical procedures including trauma, neurology, orthopedic, general surgery, and robotics (Da Vinci Xi) preferred\n Additional Information\n \n Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, and any positive result results in automatic cancellation\n Candidates should avoid any products, including CBD, that could result in a positive drug screen\n Must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer or provide a completion plan\n Non-billable orientation modules averaging 6-8 hours are completed during orientation\n RN/LVN candidates must reside within 150 miles of the facility\n Local candidates are not accepted\n Previous permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to return as a traveler\n Travel experience preferred but not required\n First-time travelers may be considered\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-753573.
