This position is for a FULL‑TIME Emergency Department Paramedic on the DAY Shift. Hours are from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, requiring three shifts per week, which may include weekends and holidays on a rotating basis. The role provides self‑scheduling tools and a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential plus an 18% Night Shift Differential where applicable. CORE FUNCTIONS

Evaluate acuity level of patients and ensure appropriate matching of patient care needs to unit and hospital resources. Perform basic patient care within scope of training, including positioning, transportation, phlebotomy, ECGs, maintenance of spinal precautions, medication administration or monitoring as ordered by a physician, and initiation or adjustment of fluid administration. Perform cardiovascular monitoring and management within scope of training. Perform airway management within scope of training and state guidelines, including oxygen administration, tracheal suctioning, ventilation assistance, positioning, end‑tidal CO₂ and pulse‑ox monitoring. Actively participate in the resuscitation of critical patients as assigned and observe and monitor patients through the diagnostic phase of treatment. Perform other duties as assigned based on competency and training. Recognize changes in patient status that require notification of charge or primary nurse and physician, and keep staff informed of the patient status and current activities. Document assessment and reassessments within unit guidelines on appropriate documentation forms, including patient progress toward outcomes and responses to interventions/therapeutic modalities. Interact with all levels of staff across departments, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts to report and clarify information.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent working knowledge. Current and valid Paramedic certification or license in the state of practice and maintenance thereafter; current BLS and ACLS certification required. PALS required if working with pediatric population. Moderate experience, typically 2‑4 years of relevant work experience or 12‑18 months in an educational program.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

FP‑C or CCT‑P Certification if working in ICU, Burn or CVCU. Additional related education and/or experience preferred. EEO Statement: Banner is an equal opportunity employer.
