Mid 5x8-Hour Shift (14:00 - 22:00)

Job Description

The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse will provide compassionate care for residents diagnosed with Alzheimer's and/or dementia, managing unpredictable aggressive behaviors. The role involves stabilization and discharge planning for residents in a specialized neurobehavioral rehabilitation program.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement behavioral management strategies tailored to each resident's unique needs.
Administer medication and monitor vital signs.
Engage in discharge planning, ensuring a smooth transition back to the community or previous facilities.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including Physical Therapy, Social Services, and Pharmacy.
Ensure safety through behavioral interventions and adherence to isolation precautions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with a focus on behavioral health.
Current NY State RN license required.
Experience with EPIC charting system.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
