The Role

As a Senior Software Engineer at Acrisure Innovation, you will be an essential part of the team building world‑class software to transform the insurance industry. You will lead the design, implementation and delivery of software while working collaboratively as part of a cross‑functional team, including software engineers, product managers, and designers to identify and deliver innovative features, systems, and products to better understand risk and surface insights and recommendations for how best to engage that risk in the marketplace.

We run on Google Cloud with Kubernetes, and use BigQuery, BigTable, and Postgres. Core languages are Kotlin, Python, Java, and JavaScript, and key frameworks include Dataflow, Cloud AI Platform, KubeFlow, Spring, and React.

• Drive the development of efficient and reliable technology with a customer‑first mindset.
• Design and maintain our tech stack, building when it makes sense, inventing when necessary, and upgrading as tools evolve.
• Identify, adopt, and evangelize best practices and technical standards across the engineering organization.
• Mentor and grow junior engineers.
• Advocate for creative implementations to optimize business impact.
• Measure the effectiveness of new features, find and address performance issues, and drive continuous improvement.
• Work collegially and effectively as we grow a world‑class, diverse engineering team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of industry experience as a Software Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals and software engineering principles.
• Expertise with modern tools, libraries, and languages, delivering production code at scale.
• Product and customer focused, with a passion for delighting the end user.
• Empathy, kindness, positive attitude, and self‑awareness.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Excited to work for an early‑stage company to experiment, discover product‑market fit and focus on maximizing business impact.
