Prior Authorization Specialist

Prior Authorization Specialist We are looking for a Prior Authorization Specialist to join our team. In this role you will work with hospital departments and insurance companies to obtain the necessary pre-certifications and authorizations for services ordered or scheduled from insurance. Job Specifics Full time, 1.0 FTE – 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 7 am to 5 pm, 8‑hour shifts. Remote eligible after in‑person training in Onalaska, WI. Specialize in prior authorization for retail medications. Responsibilities Obtain pre‑certifications and authorizations for medical services. Communicate with hospital departments and insurance carriers to gather required documentation. Ensure all authorizations meet payer and clinical criteria. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalency. 1–2 years of experience in healthcare with insurance or prior authorization. Excellent problem‑solving abilities and strong attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience coding and certifications is a plus. Compensation Starting at $20.31 per hour, with increases for experience. Benefits 401(k) with matching.
