Head of Private Wealth Capital Formation

We are retained by an up and coming institutional-grade real estate private equity firm to identify a sophisticated leader to architect and execute the expansion of their capital formation function into the retail wealth channel. A relatively new platform managing just under $2B in AUM, our client is a highly agile, vertically integrated operator recognized for generating consistent alpha through property-level operations and opportunistic investments.

The firm focuses on high-conviction, commercial real estate strategies with a strong historical emphasis on premier multifamily, industrial, and retail assets.

The Mandate

This is a high-visibility, entrepreneurial leadership role designed for a proven capital raiser who wants to build a channel from the ground up, rather than managing a mature legacy platform. Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will have a clean slate to design the firm\'s retail go-to-market strategy, secure platform placements, and drive meaningful capital inflows.

Core Responsibilities

• Strategic Architecture: Design and pioneer the comprehensive distribution strategy for the firm’s investment vehicles within the retail wealth management ecosystem.
• Capital Formation: Originate, scale, and maintain deep capital-raising relationships across tier-one RIAs, IBD networks, and prominent Multi-Family Offices nationally.
• Product Optimization: Collaborate with internal executive, legal, and compliance teams to help evaluate and structure vehicles (e.g., private placements, customized feeders, or specialized alternative fund structures) tailored to the liquidity and regulatory requirements of retail platforms.
• Platform Gatekeeping: Direct and manage the due diligence and onboarding processes required to win product placement on major wealth management and custodial platforms.
• Brand Ambassador: Serve as the authoritative face of the firm within the wealth management industry, effectively communicating complex commercial real estate investment strategies to sophisticated advisors and portfolio managers.

The ideal candidate is an experienced alternative investments distribution executive with a deep specialization in real estate private equity. You possess the institutional polish required to represent an established mid-sized platform, blended with the entrepreneurial grit needed to build a brand-new distribution channel.

• Track Record: 15+ years of capital markets or fund distribution experience, with a definitive, verifiable history of raising capital via the retail wealth, RIA, and family office channels.
• Network: An active, highly responsive network of decision-makers, platform gatekeepers, and portfolio managers within the wealth management space.
• Technical Acumen: Strong fluency in commercial real estate fundamentals and private equity structures. You can articulate property-level operations and value-creation strategies in the office and retail sectors to sophisticated wealth advisors.
• Mindset: A self-motivated builder who is attracted to high autonomy and the significant financial and professional upside that comes with unlocking a massive new capital channel.
• Licensing: Series 7, 63, and/or 65 licenses are required (or expected to be maintained). Advanced designations (CFA, CAIA) are a plus.
