Network Engineer

Optomi, in partnership with a leading client, is seeking a Data Network Engineer to provision and support Internet and Ethernet services for enterprise and carrier customers. This role focuses on network configuration, service activation, SD-WAN, and troubleshooting across Cisco, Ciena, and Fortinet platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Provision Internet and Ethernet services for new installations, changes, and disconnects.
• Support Managed LAN, Managed WAN, SD-WAN, LTE failover, and basic Wi-Fi deployments.
• Configure customer-premises equipment and perform service activation testing.
• Assist with Fortinet device configurations and troubleshoot service issues.
• Coordinate with vendors on circuit turn-ups and issue resolution.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate order status and delivery risks.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of hands-on networking or telecommunications experience.
• SDN experience and general knowledge of L3VPN, EVPN, L2VPN, MPLS, and BGP.
• Experience with Cisco IOS-XR and/or Ciena switches, or the ability to learn quickly.
• Experience configuring SD-WAN links; Fortinet preferred.
• Ability to manage tasks independently and maintain accurate records.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• CCNA-RS, CCNA-SP, or equivalent experience.

Nice to Have:

• Fortinet managed services, managed firewall, and FortiGate/FortiAP experience.
• Fortinet NSE 4 certification or equivalent experience
