Outpatient Retail PharmacistThe Outpatient Retail Pharmacist is responsible for providing safe, accurate, and patient-centered medication services in a hospital system retail pharmacy. This position dispenses prescriptions, counsels patients, manages workflow, ensures regulatory compliance, and provides exceptional customer service. The Outpatient Retail Pharmacist is a critical member of the healthcare team that coordinates medication services with hospital and clinic staff for safe and effective patient care. This position provides direct patient care as part of a clinically focused pharmacy team in a dynamic environment.Responsibilities:Accurately review, verify, and dispense prescriptions in compliance with state and federal regulationsCounsel patients on proper medication use including OTC recommendationsOversee pharmacy technicians and manage workflow for safety and efficiencyComplete duties to ensure compliance with various regulatory requirements including state boards of pharmacy, Missouri BNDD, DEA, manufacturers, auditors, and third-party payorsCoordinate patient care with other members of the healthcare team including but not limited to providers, nurses, care managers, and other pharmacistsWork closely with prior authorization team to optimize medication selectionProvide immunizations and targeted clinical services as neededTogether with Pharmacy Technicians ensure appropriate inventory levels including orderingWork to resolve claim adjudication issues to ensure proper billing with third-party plansOther duties as assignedEducation:PharmD from an accredited college of Pharmacy - RequiredWork Experience:Experience in computer applications to pharmacy services. - Required3 Years - Minimum 3 years' experience in a retail pharmacy - PreferredLicenses and Certifications:License in good standing with the Missouri State Board of Pharmacy - Required Upon HireLicense in good standing with the Kansas State Board of Pharmacy - Required within 1 YearTravel Requirements:About Us:Mosaic Life Care is a health care system in northwest Missouri.
