The Department of Surgery at Creighton University Medical Center CHI Health is excited to recruit an academic Chief of Thoracic Surgery to be part of our vibrant program and expand our clinical, research, and educational activities in conjunction with our Department of Surgery, Pulmonary Medicine, and Lynch Cancer Center. Resident activity with the department of surgery is highly engaging at our University Medical Center and Level I Trauma Center. The department of surgery trains over 25 residents and fellows, while our section of Pulmonary and Critical Medicine trains 15 fellows, year over year. Candidates will be working in an academic and teaching environment educating Creighton University'ssurgical residents and medical students and conducting research in collaboration with scientists within Common Spirit Health and the Creighton University School of Medicine. In addition, the candidate should have a strong academic interest and participate in resident education and clinical research. A minimum of 5 years of experience with demonstrated leadership skills is preferred. Also, the ideal candidate to have a track record of scholarly and educational activities at the level of Associate Professor at Creighton University School of Medicine. Has expertise in robotic thoracic surgery skills Works collaboratively with our foregut/minimally invasive surgery and pulmonary medicine teams.
