Job Description
The HVAC R Technician is responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Working primarily as a solo technician with local travel, this role demands strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, solid customer communication, and thorough documentation of all work performed. The technician will handle a variety of systems to ensure optimal function and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and preventive maintenance on HVACR systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
- Repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment
- Document service reports and maintain accurate records
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate technical information clearly
- Use specialized tools and equipment proficiently
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in HVACR
- Technical certificate in HVACR or related field
- EPA Refrigerant Certification
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
- In-depth knowledge of refrigeration cycles
- Effective customer communication abilities
- Proficiency with HVACR tools and equipment
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills
