About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Development to join their senior leadership team. The successful candidate will be a seasoned fundraising professional with a proven track record in leading fundraising teams and engaging with philanthropists. This role is pivotal in driving the organization's mission to provide high-quality, community-based youth development services. The VP of Development will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to meet aggressive fundraising goals, including individual and corporate giving, and will play a key role in the planning of major fundraising events. The position requires a strong leader with excellent communication skills, the ability to build and maintain relationships, and a deep understanding of the resource development field. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree and at least 15 years of leadership experience in fundraising and relationship management. Essential skills include the ability to organize, direct, and coordinate fundraising activities, as well as strong management and leadership abilities. The role also involves overseeing the Development Department, ensuring a culture of execution, teamwork, and professionalism. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of the resource development field, be adept at financial tracking, and have the capacity to manage a portfolio of top donors. Experience with a youth development or community-based organization is preferred. The VP of Development will work closely with the President, the Board of Governors, and other senior staff to achieve the organization's significant fundraising goals and will be expected to collaborate across departments to ensure the integration of fundraising efforts with marketing, communications, and program impact strategies.
