You believe in servant leadership and will work with development teams to thoughtfully create and deliver top-quality systems throughout the organization.What you'll do:Define and evolve the bank’s enterprise API strategy, ensuring APIs become the primary mechanism for system integration and service deliveryManage the entire development lifecycle of API operating models, including establishing design standards, documentation, governance, and adoption practices across technology teamsOwn the enterprise API platform, including gateway, authentication frameworks, developer portal, and API catalogUtilize subject matter expertise to build secure and reusable frameworks that enable teams to deliver APIs consistently and effectivelyDefine and enforce standards for API design, error handling, security controls, and performance managementCollaborate with and provide technical advice to Product Owners, Business Analysts, Software Engineers, and lines of business to estimate level-of-effort, timing, and feasibility, to design new systems based on program requirements, and to optimize system and program functionalityImplement strong API governance covering authentication, authorization, encryption, and threat protectionProvide strategic thought leadership while ensuring a tactical execution and implementation of initiativesAlways take action using Integrity, Caring, and Excellence to achieve all-win outcomesWhat you’ll need:Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, in a related field, or equivalent experienceDemonstrated ability to develop technical solutions, typically requiring a minimum of 6 years of experience in software engineering, integration platforms, or distributed systemsDemonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise APIs and microservices architecturesExperience building and operating API platforms and gateway technologiesDeep understanding of operational reliability, identifying issues and designing solutions for the biggest and most complex programs and systems at the bankExperience synthesizing and directing engineering standards and platform adoption across multiple teamsProven ability to lead a teamCurrent knowledge of emerging market trends, development methodologies, and development frameworks that improve application security, such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and mTLSStrong understanding of REST APIs, service-based architectures, and integration patterns Additional Preferred Skills:Background in financial services, payments, or other highly regulated industries Hands-on experience designing and implementing API developer portals and enterprise API catalogs Working knowledge of event‑driven architectures and streaming technologies such as KafkaExperience integrating APIs across cloud‑native and microservices‑based platformsProven support for open banking initiatives and partner integration ecosystemsExperience developing API analytics and usage insights to inform platform evolutionExperience applying DevSecOps practices to automate and govern the API lifecycleOur Benefits:At Frost, we care about your health, your family, and your future and strive to have our benefits reflect that.
