Anesthesiologist Position At Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center

Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center will give residents of Lancaster and York counties additional access to Penn State Health's expertise and specialty services without having to make the drive to Hershey. The facility is currently under construction with completion expected in October of 2022. Once opened, our new facility will help ensure residents in nearby communities have access, quality and choice of care as close to home as possible. This new, acute care facility will play a major role in helping Penn State Health reach its long-term goal of making sure the people in the communities we serve are within.

Requirements and Responsibilities

Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department

Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures

Pre-anesthesia assessment

Obtains and/or verifies patient consent

Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient

Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia

Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition

Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Requirements

M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine

ECFMG and FLEX

Completion of approved residency in anesthesia

Currently licensed as a physician
