Buyer iRiS Recruiting Solutions Texas, United States (On-site) Grow Your Career with a Retailer Investing in Growth If your buying experience is in hardlines—not apparel or footwear—this is an opportunity to own a major category with a nationally recognized outdoor retailer that’s investing in growth, private brands, and omnichannel expansion. You’ll take ownership of your category, influence merchandising strategy, and help drive business performance. In This Role, You Will: Own category sales, margin, inventory, and assortment strategy Analyze trends and customer insights to identify new product opportunities Build and negotiate strategic vendor partnerships Collaborate with Merchandising, Planning, eCommerce, Marketing, Sourcing, and Supply Chain Mentor junior team members and support category growth What You Bring: 5+ years of buying, merchandising, or category management experience in hardlines within the outdoor, hunting, camping, fishing, or sporting goods industry (not softlines/apparel) Experience managing large, high-SKU product categories in a retail environment Strong analytical, planning, and negotiation skills Passion for the outdoor lifestyle and understanding of the outdoor consumer Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Willingness to travel as business needs require If you’re ready to own a hardlines category, influence merchandising strategy, and make a measurable impact, we’d love to connect.
