Job Description

This role performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on chemical processing equipment, facility systems, and utility infrastructure. The Industrial Maintenance Technician ensures equipment reliability, supports safe and efficient production operations, and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair chemical processing equipment, including pumps, vacuum pumps, chillers, agitators and mixers, hot oil systems, ovens, and related machinery.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all production and facility equipment and accurately document results and findings.
• Complete general maintenance and repair work for buildings and facility systems to support safe and reliable operations.
• Repair or replace building fixtures such as windows, doors, door locks, and closets, and install window blinds as needed.
• Execute daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checklists and maintain accurate service and inspection records.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to support safety, minimize downtime, and maintain operational continuity.
• Assist with building renovation and remodeling projects, including drywall and plaster repairs and painting.
• Maintain detailed records of all scheduled and completed maintenance activities in accordance with facility procedures.
• Perform exterior and custodial maintenance duties as required to keep the facility clean, safe, and presentable.
• Assist in obtaining quotes for materials and repair parts and place orders as needed to support maintenance operations.
• Work collaboratively with production and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruption to operations.
• Follow all safety procedures and best practices when working with chemical processing equipment and facility systems.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on mechanical experience in an industrial environment.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot, repair, install, and perform preventive maintenance on chemical processing equipment, including pumps, vacuum systems, chillers, agitators and mixers, hot oil systems, ovens, and similar machinery.
• Strong industrial maintenance knowledge with experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, mechanical repair, and general industrial maintenance.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems in an industrial setting.
• Familiarity with facility machinery, tools, and industrial equipment.
• Ability to maintain close, distance, and color vision, as well as depth perception, to safely and accurately perform maintenance tasks.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and support a team environment.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn and develop professionally in a dynamic industrial environment.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl while performing maintenance duties.
• Capability to regularly lift and/or move objects weighing over 25 pounds.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Chemical manufacturing experience preferred, particularly in environments with chemical processing equipment.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred, including ARC, MIG, and TIG welding processes.
• Experience supporting building renovation and remodeling projects, including drywall, plaster repair, and painting.
• Experience maintaining accurate maintenance records, checklists, and service documentation.
• Comfort working with utility infrastructure and facility systems in an industrial environment.

Work Environment

This position operates within a chemical manufacturing environment that utilizes a variety of industrial and chemical processing equipment, including pumps, vacuum systems, chillers, agitators and mixers, hot oil systems, ovens, and related machinery. The role involves frequent physical activity such as standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling while working on equipment and facility systems. The technician regularly handles tools, facility machinery, and industrial equipment and must be able to lift and move objects weighing over 25 pounds. Work includes both interior and exterior maintenance tasks, as well as occasional renovation and custodial duties, in a setting where safety, attention to detail, and adherence to procedures are essential.

This is a Permanent position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $78000.00/yr.
